About the event
Jeffrey Gimble grew up in a jazz-filled home, accompanying his bandleader saxophonist father to gigs and immersing himself in the family's vast jazz record collection. He began studying piano at age four and discovered his gift for singing through the Great American Songbook and American Musical Theater.
After working as an actor in NYC, Jeffrey moved to LA to focus on jazz. “I’m probably the only professional actor who moved to LA, stopped acting, and started singing jazz instead.” His debut album, Beyond Up High, was praised as "an auspicious debut jazz album" by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and named "One of the best for 2013" by Critical Jazz. Jeffrey's performances span iconic venues across Southern California, including Catalina Jazz Club and Spaghettini Grill & Jazz Club.
