Maxayn Lewis & The Homemade Cookies

The HomeMade Cookies bring their very special repertoire to the Urban Press. If you love blues, jazz, soul, and funk, you will truly enjoy their unique blend. They describe their sound as “fresh-baked, and so tasty.”

 

Maxayn Lewis, who fronts the band, has been named a singer's singer. She is a prolific backing vocalist who has sung with The Gap Band, Donna Summer, Ray Charles, Celine Dion, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Bonnie Raitt, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Smokey Robinson, Ricky Martin, and Britney Spears, and is also the singing voice of "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" in the film starring Viola Davis.

 

Guitarist Allen Hinds is internationally recognized as one of the most outstanding guitarists of our time. He has performed with Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole, The Crusaders, Hiroshima, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Randy Crawford, Bobby Caldwell, James Ingram, Marc Antoine, Gino Vannelli & more.

 

Bassist Bobby Watson is formerly with Rufus, Michael Jackson, and a host of other mainstream artists.

 

Their credits are numerous, and it’s no wonder why.
